Preface

Srimate Rāmānujāya Namaḥ,

Dāsi (this humble servant) is a sheltered disciple of the revered U. Ve Vāchaspati, U. Ve Ratnākara, Parama Kṛpāmurti, Srimān Sribhāṣyam Srinivāsācārya Swāmi, Hyderabad. In 2021, Dāsi's husband Syām Rāmānuja Dāsa was blessed with the service of our revered ācārya pādulu in his work on the Bhagawad Gītā. The boundless mercy of our revered ācārya pādulu shaped up into a priceless 3 volume collection of books in Telugu language named, 'Bhagawad Rāmānuja Gītā Bhāṣyam- savyākhyānam'. High praise about ācāryā pāda's Gītā Bhāṣyam from dāsi's husband compounded with the eternal unsatisfied quest for an authentic Bhagawad Gītā commentary that explained Gītācārya Kṛṣṇa's actual instructions, led to the strong desire to read and understand this commentary. However, language was a barrier. Despite Telugu being our mother tongue, there was comfort in conversing but not in reading the language, as English had always been the medium of learning. The decision to practise and build reading skills in telugu happened. After gaining comfort in the language, the study of this beautiful work started. In the process arose the desire to note down the understanding in English for the benefit of our sons and others like them who could also not read Telugu. Encouragement and support came from Dāsi's husband to formalise this simple 'noting down' activity for the benefit of the larger audience. Ācārya pādulu wholeheartedly approved this idea almost instantly and showered his blessings in abundance. He instilled the vision that this work should be a presentation of dāsi's understanding of the Telugu Bhagawad Gītā and not a word to word translation. Revered ācārya pādulu continues to extend his unconditional support in patiently validating dāsi's understanding every time the need arises. It is our beloved ācārya pādulu's boundless mercy which is solely driving this assignment with dāsi as a mere instrument. Sincerely praying that more and more people become recipients of our ācārya pādulu's mercy by reading this commentary.

With Immense Gratitude
Archana Rāmānuja Dāsi
